Chapter 9
Obama and the Chicago projects.
Obama thought that the projects were different then he had originally thought that they were going to be. The projects to him were somewhat of a different sort which he could eventually deal with. He lived in a part of Chicago on which was called The Altgeld Gardens Public or The Gardens for short. He felt that The Gardens as well as all of Chicago needed some work to look better then what it looked right then and there. When he was at the meeting that he was at he looked out the window and saw some boys throwing some rocks at an old boarded up building that had been boarded up. When he saw this he said "What is going to happen to those boys? The alderman? The social workers? The gangs?".

Chapter 8
How was Obama's life different when he moved to Chicago from New York?
In 1983 Obama decided to become a community organizer. At the time there wasn't much time for detail to the idea. Some of his classmates in college asked him what exactly a community organizer does, and he couldn't answer them directly. Instead he would proununce on the need for change like is doing today and did during the campaign. Change in the White house, where Regan and his minions were carrying on their dirty deeds. According to him change would come from a grass roots. The change for Obama from New York to Chicago was sorta big one for him.

Chapter 7
I thought that this chapter was interesting in many ways. One of those many ways is when during Obama's dream he said that he was at a jail after his fathers death and he felt like the judge, jury, and jailor all in one. In this chapter he also said that he didn't go to his dad's funeral because he really didn't know his father at all. During his dream Obama was at jail were he saw his father in a jail cell awaiting his execution. My opinion on this chapter was that Obama started to pour out his feelings as well as show a different side that he has never shown us before.

Chapter 6
How did Barack's mothers and fathers first date go?
Barack's mothers and fathers first date didn't go to swimmingly. His father had asked his mother to meet him in front of the university library at one. When she got there his father was not. She decided to lay down on a nearby bench and she fell asleep. An hour later his father showed up with two of his friends and said, "You see, gentlemen. I told you that she was a fine girl, and that she would wait for me."

Chapter 4
How does Barack identify as a black man in Hawaii?
Barack identifies himself as a "black man" by saying that him and his friends that are also black are being treated like human beings by the white people that live in Hawaii. When he takes two of his friends Scott and Jeff to a party where it is all blacks the both of them wanted to leave after being there for a while. The reason for them wanted to leave is probably because they felt like that they were in the minority and they now know what it is like to be in the minority. The to of them probably feel bad for what has happened in the past to the slaves. When one of his aqnd Rays friends came up to him and Ray one day while they were sitting outside no the campus of a Hawaiian University Barack shued him away.

Chapter 3
What did Obama learn about his father when he came back to visit?
Obama learned that his father can be stubborn at times as well as many other things as well. Obama also learned that his father had gotten remarried to many other women in Kenya and Indonesia and that he also has seven other siblings that he didn't know about before. He really hadn't known his father for about ten years because his father had left his mother when he was just a little kid like a baby. When Obama sees his father he doesn't know what to think of him. Seeing his father for the first time makes him almost cry.

2nd chapter of "Dreams from My Father"
How does Obama's mother keep him in touch with his African -American heritage living in Indonesia?
One of the reason's that Obama's mother wanted to keep him in Indonesia in touch with his African-American heritage is so that he knew what other Africans have gone through and what the living conditions are in Indonesia. Another reason that Obama's mom is doing this to him is so that he knows what life is like in Indonesia and other countries where there is African-American heritage.
